THE STUDY OF INFLUENCE OF GENES POLYMORPHISM ON THE INDICES OF ECONOMIC VALUABLE TRAITS IN HOLSTEIN CATTLE

For the livestock biodiversity management and the distribution of economic traits of productivity among cattle populations molecular genetics achievements shall be used based on the selection of DNA marker creation. The effective instrument for improving the genetic potential of livestock is the use of molecular genetic markers in combination with traditional breeding methods. Marker-associated selection provides the earlier assessment of the productive capacity provides the possibility of increasing economic efficiency of dairy production and spurs the process of genetic improvement of livestock. The aim of researches is to examine the correlational study between genes polymorphisms, such as prolactin, beta-lactoglobulin, kappa-casein, leptin and stearoyl-CoA desaturase in Holstein cows with their growth, physical development, reproduction functions and dairy productivity.

To conduct DNA testing on genes polymorphisms blood samples were selected from Holstein cows and cows-heifers. Animal genotyping was performed by PCR-RFLP analysis method (Polymerase Chain Reaction - Restriction Fragment Length Polymorphism). In the studied livestock by PCR-RFLP all the possible polymorphic variants of the alleles and genotypes of the genes of CSN3-Hinf I, LGB-Hae III, PRL-Rsa I, LEP, SCD1-FspH4 I were identified. The chi-square method testing showed that the population under study is in the genetic equilibrium according to the Hardy-Weinberg Law on all genes, examined in our study.

The data obtained in the course of work provide for the possibility of using genetic marker selection in planning livestock activities. The results can be useful in breeding for the improvement of population of Holstein cattle by economic traits related to the growth power, body composition and physical development, and for creating a herd of breeding animals with a given productivity of the breeding stock.
